Memphis, TN is synonymous with music. The Home of Stax records and Sun Studios; the roots of the city are intrinsically tied to the growth of many genres, but specifically, blues and soul.
Love Theory is a band of accomplished musicians that epitomize the Memphis music tradition. Love Theory, is a 5 piece ensemble that is comprised of Steve “Steve O” Bethany, Daryl “D. Lamont” Sanford on keys, Cortez "Tazz" Fields on drums, Albert "Salty Top" Rogers on lead guitar, and Alex "Flava" Rogers on bass guitar. The band collectively has over 15 years of music experience and their collective resume includes notable artists: Eric Benet, Dorinda Clark, Yolanda Adams, Eric Gales, and Steven Segal, to name a few.
Passionate about music and dedicated to contributing to the Memphis music legacy; the ensemble teamed up with promoter Shana Jay 2 years ago to develop a platform that spotlights talented local and regional Soul and R&B Artists. They have worked with a wide variety of local artists including: Stefani Bolton, Chris J, Will Graves, Orlanda Draper, Rodney Ellis and Ruby Wilson.
The event, Melodic Mondays, is held every third Monday. Over the last 2 years the band, alongside the efforts of Shana Jay, developed a large following and in January of 2015 Curtis Givens (prominent club owner and promoter of Memphis entertainment events) opened his new venture, Club Love( located at 7144 Winchester Ave), and expanded Love Theory’s platform. Melodic Mondays is still held every third Monday and in addition; Love Theory and can now be heard supporting exceptional talent every Monday night!
